The Parable of the Ten Virgins

The virgins are a picture of The Church. 50% are smart and keep with them what is necessary to keep their lamps lit. This would include teaching sermons, music, devotionals, prayer, church attendance and exercise of the Fruit of The Spirit. They maintain their relationship with The Lord. The other half are dressed like the first and have lamps. They are considered virgins and were invited to the Marriage. These are the ones spoken of, that will be told, "I never knew you". They will complain and defend themselves with boastings of what they did in His Name. They neglected the important matters. Their supply of oil. Oil always refers to The Holy Spirit and the anointing. There is a difference between shining your light and performing works. We all have friends that are 'works based'. We also have friends that are considered family. The family type friends share a bond and genuine interest in each other and keep the relationship alive as one would a bonfire. There is always a supply of 'oil' created by the fellowship and desire to remain together and a concern for their all inclusive lives. So what happened to the second set of five? They were left behind. Other Scriptures speak of the Marriage Supper and the excuses given as to why they could not attend. They were more interested in 'works'. The call then went out to the highways and byways. Those left out were not considered worthy. The Rapture is coming and half of the Church is going to be left behind. When we consider the behaviors of Christians and how they hold on to the world and profess opinions that go against Scripture or use grace as an excuse and deny the power within to live as new creatures, but seek to crucify Christ over and over, never grow past the birthing experience simply because they love the world more and will face the consequences. There will be a period of pain and suffering as they deal with the poor choice and lack of participation in the relationship. The parable of The Sower expounds on this. There's nothing wrong with The Seed. We determine the condition of the soil of our heart. We allow the weeds. We control the watering schedule. We determine the depth of the Seed into our lives. When we can't bear the Light, we wither. "Work out your own Salvation with fear and trembling."
